OBD port hacking

Once they have access, they are able to do anything they like including resetting your vehicle's fault codes to tuning your vehicle, or stealing it in less than a minute.

To use an OBD hacking device, you'll require a laptop with software capable of interpreting the OBD protocol. These can be bought for less than PS100 on ebay or Amazon. You will also require a cable that has OBD pins connected to CAN Bus. These cables are available at Amazon or Ebay for around PS50. Then, you need to splice the cable into the wire harness of your car for example, in the radio wiring harness.
Once the hacker has gained a connection to your vehicle's OBD port, they are able to send diagnostics to the system at high baud rates which can cause CAN to crash and stop systems inside your car from functioning. This can cause your car's engine to stall or stop working.
